Nasi, Indonesia’s staple food, may be the easiest way to get our carb fix but we still need a hearty loaf of bread or a croissant every once in a while. OK, who are we kidding? Much more than once in a while. So far, the cozy Authentique in Kemang has been satisfying those hankerings, but now we don’t just have one place to get Sophie’s decadent canelés and baguettes but two with a third opening soon!
Located across another Honeycombers’ staple Pizza Barboni, Sophie’s Authentique is much larger but it still has the airiness and charm of the original. Serving the same menu as the Jalan Kemang Selatan location, Sophie’s new spot is a chip off the old block and is reliably delicious – but now you have a bit more breathing room during Sunday breakfast.
If you have haven’t had the pleasure of Sophie’s creations, she’s famous for her rustic French-style baking. In addition to making everything in-house and from scratch, Sophie has perfected her age-old family recipes and so graciously shared her creations with us, an every hungry Jakartan crew dying for some proper bread. Grab a tart or quiche slice and a loaf of bread for home and you’re set!
