For you who living in Jakarta must be familiar with this restaurant. With a Chinese concept that offers their top product with various kinds of dim sum. Well, this time in my journey in Hong Kong, one of the Tim Ho Wan outlets here has earned the Michelin Star with the cheapest Michelin restaurant theme in the world.

This award certainly brings the name of Tim Ho Wan in North Point to be one of the culinary destinations worth a visit in Hong Kong. The concept is just exactly a tea house with chinese theme, looks simple but with a large area.

I visited this restaurant at lunchtime where it seemed really crowded. So that, visitors were on waiting list. Fortunately, not too long I got a turn to enter the restaurant. Here, we are welcome to sit sharing table together with other customer. Long table with minimalist seating.

Average restaurants in Hong Kong are like this, where because of crowded visitors, then the customer will be required to share the table. The sounds of people talking to each other filled the entire room of the restaurant. Restaurant staffs shouting at each other have become typical moment seen in Hong Kong.

The menu offered is approximately the same as that branch in Jakarta. Various dim sums and indeed with a fairly affordable price almost equal to Jakarta. One of their top product that must be tried is Baked Bun with BBQ Pork. Baked rounded bread with minced pork filling along with BBQ sauce. The bread texture is quite amazing, very different from the bread in the Jakarta branch. The crisp and soft texture combined into one and very legit, just to BBQ Pork I think  it is ordinary and less savory.

Then I tried the Pan-Fried Turnip Cake. Finely processed radish and then pan-fried served in rectangular shape as much as 3 pieces on one plate. Sweet taste is thick and tasty, it's just a little too greasy especially if left for some time.

Then the last dim sum menu was a Steamed Dumpling with Chiu Chow Style. Thin white skin with basic ingredients of sago filled with various kinds of vegetable ingredients and also pork in it. I can not remember it all, there are turnips, carrots, onion, and others also there are some pieces of pork.

In addition to dim sum, they also provide a dessert that is worth a try because this one menu is not available in Jakarta branch. Tonic Medlar Petal Cake, it's one of those foods I've never met before. Jelly with a clear brown color and there are wolfberries and petal flowers in it. With a chewy texture and balanced sweetness. It's really a must try.

Overall, Tim Ho Wan is a must try, especially if you have never been there. I think overall quite satisfactory, but in flavor, Tim Ho Wan Jakarta could be an option to enjoy various dim sum without having to travel. In the price offered was quite same, especially the service in Tim Ho Wan Hong Kong team is certainly not going as friendly as in Jakarta.
