Been meaning to make a quick weekend trip to Surabaya? Well, here’s another reason to visit this foodie metropolis: Cuca, Jimbaran’s sublime tapas restaurant famous for utilizing local artisanal produce in their menus, is heading over the ocean to Surabaya for an exclusive two-night only culinary experience that cannot be missed.
On October 23 & 24, Surabaya’s 1903 at Society Complex will be hosting Cuca’s first ever pop-up event. Kevin Cherkas, Cuca’s Chef-Restauranteur, eager to “spice up Surabaya’s dining scene,” will be serving a special menu featuring the six tastiest tapas ever served by Cuca. Among classics like “BBQ Octopus” and “Bali Breakfast”, Bali’s famed restaurant is also bringing its latest creations “Baked Scallops” and “Meat and Potatoes”, as always showcasing the best products Indonesia has in offer.
Cuca has been changing the game in Bali’s restaurant scene since opening in July 2013. With foodies from all over the archipelago flocking over to Bali’s Jimbaran for this wonderfully radical dining experience – ourselves included! – we’re definitely thrilled to hear that Cuca is bringing their talents over closer to home. While we’re also hoping that Jakarta’s next on the list, we’re booking our trip over to Surabaya right now!
