Live music in Seminyak: Republik45

Bali’s hip, new Indonesian restaurant – yep, the one everyone is talking about this summer – Republik45 has added a fabulous live music in Seminyak program to their Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Top international and local artists will take you through a myriad of jazz, soul, funk and contemporary sounds. Acoustic melodies add their own delicate flavour to Republik’s dining experience, which is already renowned for feeling like you’re in the mega-mansion dining room of a friend we all want to know. It’s personal, chic and wow.

Republik’s exquisite menu retains its traditional roots, and is entirely dedicated to the authentic flavors of the Archipelago.  But the dilemma now remains, which night to book in for dinner, wine and tunes?

Lydia Rose and guitarist Dicky Fitrianto bring jazz and contemporary sounds to Republik45

Phil Stoodley is one of Republik’s resident musicians playing on Monday and Wednesdays, taking over from local legend Athron Mcaan who recently left for a six month tour of the States. Phil plays a mix of old school funk, 60s and 70s rock anthems (stripped down and exquisitely executed), and a lot of radio-friendly, feel-good tracks from the 90s and beyond.

Australian artist Lydia Rose and guitarist Dicky Fitrianto have a third night covered for you. Together, they cover similar tunes as Phil but focus on more jazz and contemporary sounds. Lydia is all about the vocals and loves to do big runs over all kinds of tracks, hitting reggae, pop and blues-jazz along the way. Dicky is an amazing guitarist with a lot of chops, loads of harmonies and an inkling for classic Spanish runs.

Republik45’s reputation for Indonesian amazingness includes so many delish dishes, such as Kerapu Rica Rica

As if the intimate, designer atmosphere could get any more elegant or charming, but it’s now as smooth and enticing as their irresistible range of cocktails on offer (try the Elderflower Julep – a mix of gin, cucumber, elderflower syrup and fresh rosemary). Not forgetting their exceptional range of rich and delicious dishes, providing a true taste of Indonesian history.

Food, drinks and music – Republik has everything covered for the best dining experience in Bali

Their menu is impressive, extensive and importantly is applauded by discerning Indonesians themselves who give it the nod, as well as all visitors who love the food.  Big favourites include the Bebek Goreng Bali, Rendang Sapi and Kerapu Rica Rica (spicy pan seared Coral Trout served on a bed of flavoursome vegetables). But that’s just for starters.  We suggest you wear (fancy, ideally silk) elastic waist-banded attire, as you’ll be there for hours.

And again, don’t forget those Elderflower Juleps!
